Rules for Participation in ASHJC Shows

I would suggest that all players who plan to come to ASHJC shows to read all rules very carefully, if you fail to abide by the rules when entering shows you may be receive a warning, disqualified for that show, or suspended from further showing in ASHJC sanctioned shows. Punishment depends on which rule is broken and the serverity of which it is broken with!

* This page has been updated for the 2002 ASHJC Show Season *

1. All entrants must follow eligibility requirements for all classes. If you enter a horse in a division it is not eligible (age, height requirements, etc.) for regardless of reason, that horse will be scratched without notice!

2. Horse abuse will not be tolerated! Please follow show/over showing rules from the game your are from (if you are from a game).

3. Follow all rules show holders list!

4. Horses may not show in Over Fences Classes that have more than a six inch difference from the other Over Fences Classes said horse is entered in. (i.e. A horse can show in Modified Low Working Hunter [2ft6] and Low Working Hunter [3ft], but not Modified Low Working Hunter [2ft6] and Regular Working Hunter [3ft6]) This rule applies for all Over Fences Classes NOT just Hunter Classes.

* The ONLY exception to this rule, is for horses who cross enter between Open Jumpers and a Grand Prix *

5. Riders may NOT ride multiple horses in Eq. Classes. Riders may only ride one animal per class in Eq. Classes and ASHJC Medal Classes.

6. All entries must be paid by the date of the show (if the show has entry fees). However, paying entry fees at the time entries are sent are most helpful.

7. Please practice good Netiquette at all times and show respect for all show hosts (i.e. please don't pester us about show results)! If a host is taking too long, somebody from ASHJC will notify them and get things rolling again)! We are all busy people and have lives other than on the net!

8. Hunter/Jumper and Show Jumper points follow the horse. Even if the horse in question is sold during the season, if the horse's new owner continues to show the horse at ASHJC shows the horse will retain all points earned with its previous owner. Only Eq. points follow the rider.

9. Owners may not enter more than three horses per owner per class. Except for Eq. and Medal classes where the limit is still one horse per owner per class.

10. Horses may not enter more than two divisons per show. (This doesn not include Eq. and medal classes). Anything more will be considered horse abuse and the offender will be punished!
