Rules for Holding ASHJC Shows

These are the rules for holding ASHJC Shows, those of you who run host barns, it may be to your advantage to become familiar with these. If these are not followed, the resulting show may not be ASHJC recognized until fixed so all these rules are followed. If any of these rules are broken or not applied in such a severity as to the barn is needed to be revoked of its host barn status, it will be done.

* This page has been updated for the 2002 ASHJC Show Season *

Rules for all Shows:

1. Grand Champion and Reserve Champion must be awarded in each division. Places must be awarded through sixth place in normal classes (eighth in Grand Prixs), provided there are enough entries in the class.

2. ASHJC Show hosts must offer at least five ASHJC divisons at a show to be recognized. However, each division that year-end prizes will be handed out for must be held at a minimum of four ASHJC shows.
*NOTE* A division is NOT one class! It is a set of specific classes as listed on the "Discriptions of Divisions and Classes Held" page! All classes from division must be listed for it to count! Anything else is not acceptable!

3. All classes must be listed in/on the post/page.

4. All fence heights must be listed in/on the post/page.

5. When there are twenty or more entries in a class two sets of ribbons must be awarded.
Ex: Highest score will be 1st place, the second highest score will also be 1st place. The third highest score will be 2nd place, the fourth highest score will be also be 2nd place, etc.

When a whole division is split two Grand Champions and two Reserve Champions must be awarded.

6. There must be a mimimum of two entries in all classes to be run, the only exception is the ASHJC Medal Class and ASHJC Pony Medal Class which requires three entries to be run!

7. Show Management has the right to require that rules other than the ASHJC Rules for Show Participation be followed; so long as these rules are specificaly stated on the post/page.

8. There may be no more than one ASHJC show per week. No more than three shows per month.

9. Due to the huge amount of work ASHJC shows typically generate, if the show management desires they may limit the number of horses a owner may enter per class further than ASHJC limit of three horses per class. However, this must clearly be stated on the post.

10. Starting the 2002 Show Season all ASHJC shows will be single point.

Rules for only Board Shows:

1. Before posting on ASHJC's Show Board please ask Kirabean via e-mail or AIM to recieve permission to post.

2. All show results must be posted on a web page or txt file for all ASHJC members to view (hey, results won't stay on the board forever!) no more than two weeks after the final day of the show (the last date the show was set to run). If this deadline is not met for all results of the specific show, than no results from that show shall count in the point standings and the management of that show will be suspended from running more ASHJC shows. If you do not have access to the internet at some point during the two weeks after your show if you let me know about it; the time during which you cannot access the internet will not count in your alloted two weeks.

3. All board shows must have free entries. However, if the host is awarding cash for the Grand Prix class, they may charge for entry to ONLY that class.

Rules for only Page Shows:

1. To host a page show you most notify me, Kirabean, via e-mail or AIM before you start excepting entries. When you page is completed it will not "officaly" be an ASHJC show untill I have looked over it.

2. After your show is officaly an ASHJC show you must post a link to the show on ASHJC's Show Board for all members to see.

3. You may run non-ASHJC recognized classes on page shows so long as these classes:
a) do not interfear with the running of the ASHJC portion of the show (in other words the ASHJC has first priority)
b) it is clearly stated that these other classes are not ASHJC recognized

4. Show hosts may charge a maximum or $15.00 per class, or a maximum of $60 per horse.

5. If your show costs money, you must give out prizes. All prizes should be listed on the page.

6. The two week limit applies the same way for page shows as it does for board shows, except you do not have to create a new page with results. The show simply must be run in two weeks unless Kirabean is given prior notification.

7. After the show is run, a page with results on it must be left up for the remander of the season.
